Bearcat Blitz Tailgating and Parking Information *NEW for 2009*

Guidelines for the UC Alumni Association’s home football pre-game event, including the use of the parking lot adjacent to the Myers Alumni Center for tailgating

The UC Alumni Association invites Bearcat alumni and fans to participate in the Bearcat Blitz indoor/outdoor tailgate before home UC football games in 2009.

The “indoor tailgate” happens inside the Myers Alumni Center, with refreshments available and seating for 200+ Bearcat fans.

The traditional “outdoor tailgate” takes place in and around the parking lot adjacent to the Myers Alumni Center just north of Nippert Stadium and south of Martin Luther King Blvd, the College of Business and the Campus Green Garage. It includes food and drink vendors, plus plenty of greenspace for greeting your fellow Bearcats and having fun with friends and family.

Here are the guidelines for Bearcat Blitz tailgating in the parking lot adjacent to the Myers Alumni Center:

• The opportunity to tailgate in the parking lot is a benefit of being a Sustaining or Life Member of the UC Alumni Association. A current, valid UCAA Sustaining or Life Membership card must be shown upon arrival to gain admittance to the lot, and the card must then be displayed on the dashboard in plain view during the entire time the vehicle is parked there on gameday.

  • McMicken Society membership cards will NOT be accepted in lieu of UCAA Sustaining or Life Membership cards for lot parking anytime during UC home football gamedays.
    
    
  • Your current, valid UCAA Sustaining or Life Membership card allows the opportunity to park in this lot on home football gamedays ONLY. All other days, the lot is designated a UC “Zone A” lot and requires a corresponding permit.
    
    
• The parking lot adjacent to the Myers Alumni Center will open at 7:00 a.m. each gameday, with no parking permitted earlier — overnight parking will not be permitted either. NOTE:  On Friday, Nov. 13 the lot will open at 2:00 p.m.
  
  
• Filling the lot’s available spaces will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no opportunity to reserve spaces in advance.
  
  
• Only one space will be allotted per vehicle. No RVs will be permitted.
  
  
• This lot is designated specifically for tailgating and will draw people accordingly. Please use caution when navigating the lot and show courtesy to your fellow Bearcat fans.

These guidelines take effect with the Bearcat Blitz to be held prior to UC’s home opener on Saturday, September 12.
