Fellow Bearcats,
I hope you’re enjoying a great summer wherever you are — in the Cincinnati area, throughout Ohio or the nation, or even around the world. Our UC family truly extends everywhere in its reach and impact.
It’s a busy and important summer for your UC Alumni Association . . . a time of significant change and growth that is occurring for one big reason — to better serve you and your needs as UC alumni.
We have just completed work on a new strategic plan, guided by extensive research and alumni/student input to ensure we’re doing the right things. We have just elected a strong slate of new officers and at-large members to our volunteer Board of Governors to help guide our work. We’re assembling additional organizational resources to help us in the ways that matter most. And we’re focused on being inclusive in our activities, diverse in our nature, transparent in our operations, and global in our reach.
As we continue to find new ways to serve our alumni family, we ask three things of you:
- Share your thoughts, questions and ideas. We’re working on your behalf, and to do that effectively, we need to know what you see, hear, want and need. Feel free to call us at 513-556-4344 in the Cincinnati area or 1-877-4-UCALUM toll-free from anywhere else, e-mail us, or visit with us at any UCAA event.
- Look for opportunities to connect with UC and your fellow alumni. Only good things can come from being more engaged with your university, and there are countless ways to do it.
- Bear with us . . . Times of transition often produce “bumps in the road,” but we feel good about where we’re going. Without a doubt, even greater times are ahead for UC and all Bearcats.
The value of teamwork was reinforced in me during my days as a student-athlete on the UC basketball team in the 1980s, and I see those lessons all around me today. The UC family is a team — we bring our unique qualities and individual talents, yet we’re all striving for the same success. Together we can do anything.
