UCAA Names Board Officers, At-Large Members
The University of Cincinnati Alumni Association’s volunteer Board of Governors has elected its slate of officers and new at-large members for the 2008-09 year, to begin July 1.
Officers will be:
- President: Stephen L. Simendinger, a 1976 graduate of UC’s College of Business. Simendinger works for Johnson Investment Counsel, Inc., Cincinnati.
- Vice President: Russell C. Myers (Business ’82), Cincinnati Capital Properties, Loveland.
- Vice President-Finance: James E. Kroeger (Business ’78), Midland Co., Amelia.
- Secretary/Treasurer: Anthony J. Yates (College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services ’63), Tony Yates & Associates, Cincinnati.
All were elected to two-year terms.
Alumni elected or re-elected as at-large members to terms expiring in 2009 were:
- Margaret T. (Teri) Andrews (Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services ’81), Montgomery Inn, Inc., Cincinnati.
- Shelley Bamberger Bailey (College-Conservatory of Music ’75, ’76), I-Cue, Cincinnati.
- James F. Bogen (Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services ’97, Law ’02), Attorney-at-Law, Cincinnati.
- Justin M. Gibson (Business ’05), University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati.
- Douglas A. Yerkeson (Engineering ’90, Law ’93), Baker & Daniels, Indianapolis, Ind.
Elected to terms expiring in 2010 were:
- David M. Ahuja (Business ’90), Procter & Gamble, Cincinnati.
- Ralph E. “Ed” Campbell (Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services ’71), Brooks Brothers, Cincinnati.
- Nathaniel Lampley, Jr. (Law ’88), Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, Cincinnati.
- Stephen M. McNamee (McMicken College of Arts & Sciences ’64), United States District Court, Phoenix, Ariz.
- Miriam E. West (Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services ’66), Cincinnati Public Schools, Cincinnati.
Elected to terms expiring in 2011 were:
- Lynne M. Bartley (College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning ’87), Springboro, Ohio.
- Eugene E. Blalock (Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services ’94, ’96), Mt. Healthy City Schools, Cincinnati.
- Sean P. Connell (Arts & Sciences ’91), Connell & Associates, Glen Rock, N.J.
- Betty Ireland (Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services ’67), State of West Virginia, Charleston, W.V.
- Ryan M. Rybolt (Engineering ’97), Infintech LLC, Cincinnati.
“The success of the University of Cincinnati is highly dependent upon the vibrant and passionate engagement of its alumni, and enhancing that level of alumni engagement is our work,” said University of Cincinnati Alumni Association executive director Myron L. Hughes.
“These new and re-elected members are now part of a very strong and dedicated Board of Governors, and we are truly excited that so many outstanding and committed UC alumni have chosen to serve as our volunteer leaders. This can only enrich the UC experience for everyone in Bearcat family.”
Nancy L. Zimpher, president of the University of Cincinnati, was gratified to see the increasing excellence and diversity of the institution and its alumni body reflected in these new board members.
“UC is a nationally and internationally recognized university, drawing students from throughout Ohio and increasingly from around the world,” Zimpher said. “Likewise, our alumni make positive contributions far and wide. To represent this vast alumni family, we have a strong group of board members who bring national representation and perspectives to this extremely important group.”
