2016 UC Blue Ash Distinguished Awards Celebration and Alumni Silent Auction

5-9 p.m. | Cooper Creek Event Center | Register

The Alumni Silent Auction kicks off the evening at 5 p.m. and benefits the UCBA Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. Immediately following at 6:30 p.m. is the awards program honoring accomplished alumni, faculty, and staff. Please join us and enjoy free refreshments as we reconnect and celebrate this year’s honorees.

24th Annual Florence Nightingale Awards for Nursing

The 24th Annual Florence Nightingale Awards for Excellence in Nursing will be held on April 13, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati.

The Board of Advisors of the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing hosts the Nightingale Awards annually to recognize professional nurses in the Greater Cincinnati area for their contributions to direct patient care.

Board of Advisors Nightingale award winners receive $1,000, as well as a commemorative award.

Funds generated beyond expenses for this event will be used to support scholarships for undergraduate students of the UC College of Nursing.

Friday, April 15

MainStreet Stride

12 p.m. | UC MainStreet

The MainStreet Stride is a campus tradition – a springtime foot parade of red and black. Student organizations, as well as students, faculty and staff representing offices across the university, dress up in their best (and often most creative) red-and-black spirit wear to parade their pride through campus. The parade begins on the plaza at University Pavilion and proceeds down MainStreet to the Campus Recreation Center. This year we are celebrating the 11th anniversary of the MainStreet Stride at the #hottestcollegeinAmerica.

A free lunch will be provided for the entire UC community in the Campus Recreation Center Gymnasium immediately after the parade, featuring a performance by the UC Bearcats Band, Cheer & Dance Team, awards and Student Government Inauguration.

Provide and Protect - Estate Planning Seminar

A lot of people - some estimate as high as approximately 55% of American adults do not have a will or other estate plan in place. The idea of creating a will and planning your legacy is difficult for many people to think about but it is important for your intentions to be clear. Creating a will is fairly easy and the Provide and Protect Seminar will give you everything you need to know to create a plan that reflects your goals and dreams.

Taught by local estate planning attorneys, this free seminar will assist you in creating your own plan with your own Planning Your Legacy Wills Guide. Additional materials and online tools will be made available as well.

Help us to give back to the community as part of the #HashtagLunchBag project. We will prepare lunches for those in need and distribute them in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.

McMicken College of Arts and Sciences: Get Merry with McMicken!

All A&S alumni reunion. A family friendly open house where you can meet the dean, mingle with faculty and fellow alumni, drink and play games! Ohio Premier of Abyssinian Mass: A Gospel Celebration by Wynton Marsalis (CCM Jazz Orchestra & Chorale with Central State University Gospel Choir)

Commissioned to celebrate the 2008 bicentennial of Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church, Wynton Marsalis’ Abyssinian Mass is a landmark collaboration of jazz, gospel, instrumentals and vocals with “hand-clappin” and “tambourine-slappin’,” reflecting the form of the African American church service.
