DAAP, CCM Alumni Relations Strengthened with Muenzer Addition
August 10, 2016
The hiring of a new college alumni relations professional will create more and greater engagement opportunities for two of the University of Cincinnati’s most renowned colleges.
The UC Alumni Association (UCAA) has added Jamie Muenzer as associate director of alumni relations for the College of Design, Architecture, Art, & Planning (DAAP) and the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Muenzer is a 2011 graduate of DAAP with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and a K-12 licensure in arts education.
In supporting the deans’ and colleges’ alumni relations priorities, she will lead the development and implementation of programs to foster stronger connections for DAAP and CCM alumni with their colleges and the university overall. Her responsibilities include coordinating alumni activities within the colleges and as part of larger UCAA events such as Homecoming and Alumni Weekend, contributing to alumni-focused communications, and partnering with alumni volunteer leaders. DAAP has about 16,000 alumni and CCM about 12,000 living around the world.
“We are thrilled to add Jamie to the UC Alumni Association team in the vital area of alumni relations working with these two colleges,” said Jennifer Heisey, executive director of the UC Alumni Association and the UC Foundation’s vice president of alumni relations. “DAAP and CCM are two of UC’s signature colleges with exceptionally proud alumni who realize the lifelong advantages gained from their UC experiences. We look forward to Jamie’s work in creating an even more engaged alumni base.”
Muenzer’s appreciation for her new role draws on her own personal experiences at UC. She met her husband at DAAP, has lived on or around campus for a decade, and has maintained strong ties to the university and her college.
“I’m genuinely interested in the creative paths our alumni have taken and where they’re going next,” she said. “So I want to help make meaningful, long-term involvement easier for CCM and DAAP alumni by making those opportunities more accessible and innovative.”
Muenzer came to UCAA from Cincinnati non-profit Visionaries + Voices, which supports the careers of artists with disabilities, where she served as education director.
