A&S: Solar Eclipse Fun
Thursday, April 4
6 - 8 p.m.
Cincinnati Observatory
3489 Observatory Place (Hyde Park)
Cincinnati, OH
Registration is closed. Please contact Mark Osborne with any questions.
On April 8, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, with part of the Greater Cincinnati region on the edge of what astronomers call the “path of totality.” A total solar eclipse happens when the moon passes directly between the sun and the Earth, blocking all sunlight for a period of time, effectively turning day into night. Such events are rare; the next solar eclipse to be visible in North America will not occur for another 20 years!
Join A&S for a family-friendly and educational event to learn about the science and history of eclipses and how to prepare for the April 8 solar eclipse. Guests will also hear more about the history of the Cincinnati Observatory, look through the first publicly available telescope in America, and enjoy child-specific activities so the entire family can participate in the fun.
Ticket options:
$20 - Adults
$10 - Children (ages 3-12)
Registration fee includes light refreshments and solar eclipse viewing glasses.
Advance registration is requested by March 29.
