Objectives:

  • Examine the legal and historical background of human trafficking legislation.
  • Discuss the definitions, stages and forms of human trafficking.
  • Describe the characteristics of victims and perpetrators of human trafficking.
  • Discuss the risk factors and social determinants of human trafficking.
  • Identify the major health consequences of human trafficking.
  • Identify screening tools to assess for HT and responsibilities of health care providers in managing potential victims in the healthcare setting.
